Key Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from diverse sources. Utilize modern ETL/ELT tools and frameworks to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Data Architecture & Modeling: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data models, schemas, and architectures that align with business requirements. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and performance across storage and processing layers.
• Big Data Technologies: Leverage cutting-edge big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) to process and analyze data at scale. Implement best practices for distributed computing and parallel processing.
• Data Governance & Quality: Establish and enforce data governance policies to maintain high standards of data quality, security, and compliance. Implement monitoring and validation mechanisms to detect anomalies and ensure accuracy.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions. Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability. Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance system responsiveness.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence to data security protocols, privacy regulations, and industry standards. Implement encryption, access controls, and audit mechanisms to safeguard sensitive information.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in data engineering principles, coupled with hands-on experience in building and managing data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have:

• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, along with experience in SQL and NoSQL databases. Familiarity with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) is highly desirable.
• Cloud & Big Data Expertise: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and big data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Flink) is essential. Certifications in these technologies are a plus.
• Data Pipeline Tools: Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica, or similar platforms. Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools like Airflow or Luigi is advantageous.
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and propose innovative solutions. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results are critical.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and adapt to evolving project requirements.
• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
