Job Purpose
The Reporting & Budgeting Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and strategic alignment of the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing all budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate and insightful financial information. The role involves monitoring budget performance, analyzing financial trends, and providing actionable recommendations to support executive decision-making, business planning, and long-term sustainability. By maintaining rigorous financial controls and fostering cross-functional collaboration, the Reporting & Budgeting Supervisor contributes directly to the organization’s financial integrity and strategic growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Budgeting & Forecasting Leadership: Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities. Develop and refine financial forecasts to support long-term planning and resource allocation.
- Financial Reporting Excellence: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and timeliness. Ensure reports meet the needs of stakeholders, including senior management, investors, and regulatory bodies.
- Performance Analysis & Insights: Monitor actual financial performance against approved budgets, identifying variances and trends. Conduct in-depth analysis to assess the root causes of deviations and recommend corrective actions to optimize financial outcomes.
- Strategic Financial Communication: Develop and maintain financial dashboards, key performance indicator (KPI) reports, and executive presentations to facilitate data-driven decision-making. Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for leadership.
- Process Optimization & Compliance: Continuously evaluate and enhance budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Ensure strict adherence to company policies, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS), and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business units to review and validate budgets, financial performance, and strategic initiatives. Provide financial guidance and support to department leaders to align operational activities with financial objectives.
- Data Integrity & Governance: Oversee the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data and reports. Implement robust controls to safeguard financial information and mitigate risks associated with reporting errors or inconsistencies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years of progressive experience in budgeting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), financial reporting, or a closely related finance function. Prior supervisory or leadership experience is highly desirable.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) are preferred and will be considered an advantage.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build complex financial models, perform data analysis, and create dynamic reports. Hands-on experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particularly SAP, is a strong asset.
- Analytical & Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication skills to present financial insights effectively to non-financial stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
