Key Responsibilities

• Guest Experience: Provide warm, professional, and personalized service to every guest, engaging them with attentiveness and genuine hospitality. Anticipate their needs, offer tailored beverage recommendations, and ensure their experience exceeds expectations.
• Beverage Preparation: Expertly prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, fresh juices, mocktails, and specialty beverages, adhering strictly to established recipes and Rosewood’s quality standards. Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and temperature to uphold our reputation for excellence.
• Equipment and Operations: Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and related equipment with care and efficiency. Ensure all tools are clean, functional, and ready for use, while following manufacturer guidelines for maintenance and sanitation.
• Knowledge and Expertise: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of coffee origins, brewing methods, and beverage trends to provide informed recommendations and enhance guest satisfaction. Stay updated on industry innovations and Rosewood’s evolving menu offerings.
• Workstation Management: Keep workstations, counters, and service areas immaculately clean, organized, and fully stocked. Conduct daily opening and closing procedures meticulously to ensure a seamless and efficient operation.
• Inventory and Stock Control: Monitor inventory levels closely, communicate replenishment needs to supervisors, and assist with stock rotation following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere rigorously to food safety, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), and sanitation standards to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. Follow all health, safety, and emergency protocols to protect guests and staff alike.
• Professional Presentation: Maintain impeccable personal grooming and hygiene in line with Rosewood’s standards, reflecting the brand’s commitment to luxury and professionalism.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Experience: A minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on experience as a Barista in a luxury hotel, premium café, restaurant, or hospitality setting, where attention to detail and guest service were paramount.
• Certification: Professional Barista certification is highly preferred, demonstrating a commitment to the craft and a deep understanding of coffee preparation techniques.
• Technical Skills: Proven expertise in specialty coffee preparation, including espresso-based beverages, and the ability to create latte art to enhance the visual appeal of drinks.
• Knowledge Base: A strong foundation in coffee beans, brewing methods, and current beverage trends, enabling you to provide insightful recommendations and elevate the guest experience.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills, with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
