Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing, securing, and optimizing our organization’s database environments while providing reliable regional IT support across multiple sites. Your expertise will ensure high availability, peak performance, data integrity, and secure access to business-critical systems and applications. This position plays a crucial role in aligning database operations with our business continuity and operational objectives, ensuring seamless functionality and resilience across all regional operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Database Administrator will oversee a comprehensive range of technical duties, including:

• Database Administration: Install, configure, monitor, maintain, and optimize enterprise databases to guarantee optimal performance, availability, and reliability. Ensure databases are consistently aligned with business requirements and technological advancements.
• Performance & Optimization: Conduct thorough performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning to maintain and enhance database efficiency. Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks to ensure seamless operations.
• Backup & Recovery: Manage and oversee database backup procedures, restore operations, replication strategies, and disaster recovery protocols. Safeguard critical data against loss and ensure rapid recovery in the event of disruptions.
• Database Security & Access Control: Implement robust security controls, user access management, encryption protocols, and comprehensive audit logging. Protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain database clustering, failover mechanisms, replication solutions, and disaster recovery frameworks. Minimize downtime and data loss to support uninterrupted business operations.
• Regional IT Support: Provide expert technical support to regional sites, addressing infrastructure challenges, endpoint issues, application errors, and user concerns. Serve as a trusted resource for regional IT teams to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
• Application & ERP Support: Deliver specialized support for business-critical applications and databases, including enterprise platforms such as SAP S/4HANA. Ensure these systems operate at peak performance and align with organizational goals.
• Server & Infrastructure Support: Assist with server administration, storage management, virtualization, and cloud environments that support database workloads. Collaborate with infrastructure teams to optimize resource utilization and scalability.
• Monitoring & Incident Management: Proactively monitor database health, performance metrics, and system alerts. Lead incident response efforts, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues and enhance system reliability.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Accredited professional certifications, including but not limited to Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Azure Administrator, and Microsoft Certified Windows Server certifications, or equivalent credentials from recognized institutions.
• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in database administration and enterprise IT support, with a proven track record of managing complex database environments.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with regional teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
