Position Overview

Deloitte Middle East is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Auditor to join our dynamic Audit & Assurance team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Supervision: Oversee and mentor junior team members, providing clear guidance on audit procedures, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistent quality and efficiency in audit engagements.
• Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, fostering strong professional relationships while addressing their audit needs with precision and professionalism.
• Audit Execution: Plan, execute, and complete audit engagements in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and relevant regulatory requirements, including the preparation of detailed audit plans, risk assessments, and substantive testing procedures.
• Financial Reporting: Review and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting principles and regulatory frameworks, such as IFRS and local Saudi GAAP.
• Risk Assessment & Controls: Identify and evaluate key risks, internal controls, and governance structures, providing actionable recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate potential risks.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare comprehensive audit reports, management letters, and working papers that clearly communicate findings, observations, and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management and external regulators.
• Industry Specialization: Develop expertise in specific industries or sectors, such as financial services, energy, or manufacturing, to provide tailored audit solutions that address the unique challenges and opportunities within those markets.
• Professional Development: Participate in continuous learning initiatives, including training programs, certifications, and industry conferences, to stay abreast of evolving audit standards, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the audit landscape.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or CIA) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive audit experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a Big 4 firm or a reputable audit practice.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, financial reporting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, or local GAAP), and regulatory compliance requirements. Proficiency in audit software (e.g., TeamMate, ACL, or IDEA) and ERP systems is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and time-management abilities are essential.
• Language & Cultural Fit: Fluency in Arabic and English is required. The ability to thrive in a multicultural and fast-paced environment, with a deep understanding of Saudi business culture and regulatory landscape, is critical.
• Certifications: Active membership in a recognized professional body (e.g., Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants) is preferred.
