Whether managing on-premises SQL Server environments or cloud-based solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), you will play a key role in maintaining data integrity while driving efficiency and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of technical and operational duties, including but not limited to:

• SQL Database Administration: Monitor, optimize, and secure SQL Server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with industry standards. Implement robust backup and recovery strategies, troubleshoot complex issues, and automate routine operations to minimize downtime.
• Performance Tuning & Optimization: Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks through query optimization, indexing strategies, and resource allocation. Leverage tools like SQL Profiler and SolarWinds to identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Design and maintain failover solutions, including Always On, replication, and clustering, to ensure business continuity. Develop and enforce disaster recovery plans tailored to enterprise needs.
• Cloud Database Management (OCI): Provision, configure, and manage databases within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including Data Guard setups, automated backups, and auto-scaling. Utilize OCI’s monitoring tools, APIs, and CLI to streamline database lifecycle operations and ensure seamless cloud integration.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce stringent security protocols, manage user access, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database practices with organizational and client-specific compliance standards.
• Automation & Innovation: Develop scripts (PowerShell, Bash) to automate repetitive tasks such as backups, monitoring, and maintenance. Stay ahead of industry trends by exploring emerging technologies and advocating for data-driven solutions.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive professional with a proven track record in database administration and a deep passion for technology. Ideal candidates will possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 4 years in SQL Server database administration.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB, including Atlas, replica sets, sharding, and backup/restore processes.
• Proficient knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), with experience in database provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management. Familiarity with OCI certifications is a significant advantage.
• Expertise in performance tuning, backup strategies, and high-availability solutions, including experience with tools like Nagios and Zabbix.
• Technical proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL, SSMS), Windows Server, and Linux environments, along with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator or equivalent are highly regarded.
• A results-oriented mindset, with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities, ensuring clarity and consistency in technical processes and knowledge sharing.
