Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will:

• Deploy and Operate Cutting-Edge Infrastructure: Install, configure, and maintain state-of-the-art hardware, including servers, networking equipment, and data center components, ensuring seamless operation across Google’s global infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and Resolve Technical Issues: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems at a component level, applying best practices to maintain reliability and performance in high-stakes environments.
• Perform Preventative and Corrective Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, repairs, and upgrades on servers, networking devices, and other critical infrastructure to extend equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.
• Ensure Data Security and Compliance: Adhere to Google’s stringent security protocols to safeguard data integrity, including proper disposal of end-of-life equipment and adherence to data erasure standards.
• Collaborate on Large-Scale Projects: Work with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and document infrastructure deployments, including contingency planning for complex installations.
• Support AI and Cloud Initiatives: Contribute to the development and maintenance of infrastructure that powers Google’s AI models, TPUs, and cloud services, enabling scalable and efficient computing solutions for billions of users worldwide.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional with a strong technical foundation and a proactive mindset. While experience is invaluable, we also value hands-on learning and adaptability. To excel in this role, you should have:

• Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in component-level repairs and troubleshooting of IT hardware, operating systems, or networking protocols. Familiarity with Linux clusters, server configurations, and networking devices (e.g., routers, switches) is a significant advantage.
• Physical Stamina and Dexterity: The ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs of equipment, perform repetitive tasks, and work in physically demanding environments, including bending, kneeling, and climbing.
• Flexibility and Resilience: Willingness to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays, and rotating shifts, to ensure 24/7 operational reliability.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Education or Certification: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, or completion of a program like Google’s IT Support Professional Certificate.
• Specialized Experience: At least two years of experience in diagnosing hardware, operating systems, or networking issues, preferably in a data center or network operations environment.
• Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to partner with engineers, technicians, and project teams, fostering a culture of innovation and problem-solving.
