Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Security Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our organization's information systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in computer hardware and software troubleshooting, coupled with relevant certifications that demonstrate expertise in information security.

Key Responsibilities

• System Security Management: Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and threats to mitigate risks and prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level technical support for hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance while adhering to security best practices.
• Compliance and Auditing: Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with industry regulations, such as ISO 27001, NIST, or PCI DSS.
• Incident Response: Lead or participate in incident response activities, including forensic analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts to restore secure operations promptly.
• Security Awareness Training: Collaborate with the training team to educate employees on security best practices, phishing awareness, and the importance of maintaining a secure computing environment.
• Vendor and Third-Party Risk Management: Evaluate and manage security risks associated with third-party vendors, ensuring that all external partners meet our stringent security standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and industry trends to proactively enhance our security posture and recommend innovative solutions to address evolving risks.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues, with a deep understanding of operating systems, networking, and security tools.
• Certifications: One or more industry-recognized certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar credentials, are highly preferred.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail to identify and resolve complex security issues efficiently.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning in a fast-paced environment.
• Work Schedule: This position requires a standard work schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. However, flexibility to accommodate occasional extended hours or weekends may be necessary to meet departmental needs and address critical security incidents.
