Position Overview

Become an integral part of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and safeguard the backbone of global cloud infrastructure as a Data Center Technician. In this critical role, you will serve as a key contributor to the seamless operation of AWS data centers, ensuring uninterrupted access to cloud services for millions of businesses and end-users worldwide. Your expertise in hardware, network diagnostics, and physical repairs will directly impact the reliability, security, and efficiency of one of the most advanced technology platforms in the world.

Core Responsibilities

As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the physical and operational infrastructure that powers AWS services. Your duties will include:

• Hardware and Network Diagnostics: Conduct thorough troubleshooting of server, storage, and networking equipment to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum service availability.
• Physical Repairs and Maintenance: Perform hands-on repairs, replacements, and upgrades on servers, racks, power systems, cooling units, and network components, adhering to the highest safety and quality standards.
• On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to address critical incidents and operational disruptions, providing timely resolutions to maintain service continuity across global data centers.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Act as a primary point of contact for internal teams, including engineers, software developers, and operations managers, as well as external vendors and contractors. Facilitate clear communication to drive efficient issue resolution and process improvements.
• Documentation and Process Enhancement: Contribute to the development and refinement of operational documentation, incident reports, and best practices to elevate the overall efficiency and reliability of data center operations.
• Training and Mentorship: Assist in the onboarding, training, and mentorship of new team members, sharing technical knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Change Management and Maintenance: Participate in scheduled maintenance activities, change management processes, and infrastructure upgrades to support the evolution of AWS data centers.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role is designed for professionals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and are comfortable working in industrial settings. Key physical requirements include:

• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds individually.
• Comfort working in cramped, elevated, or confined spaces, including ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitations.
• Endurance for standing, walking, bending, stretching, and reaching for extended periods, with shifts potentially exceeding 8 hours to support 24/7 operations.
• Willingness to work in shifts covering both day and night, as well as travel to alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facilities become fully operational.
