Key Responsibilities

In this strategic position, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Delivering Exceptional End-User Support: Provide first-line technical assistance to employees across IMI plc, resolving hardware and software issues with efficiency and professionalism. This includes troubleshooting access problems, password resets, and ensuring timely resolution of support tickets to maintain operational continuity.
• Ensuring Network Reliability: Monitor and maintain our network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points, to guarantee optimal connectivity. Escalate complex issues to senior IT teams while performing routine checks to prevent downtime and enhance performance.
• Managing IT Assets and Systems: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers. Conduct regular system health checks and patch management to ensure compliance with security standards and operational best practices.
• Enforcing Cybersecurity Protocols: Implement and enforce security measures such as user account provisioning, monitoring for unauthorized access, and supporting antivirus and endpoint protection updates. Assist in conducting regular security audits to align with IMI plc’s ‘Cyber Essential Plus’ framework and internal policies.
• Administering Core IT Systems: Manage critical IT infrastructure, including Microsoft Active Directory, VMware vSphere environments, and Microsoft 365, to ensure seamless integration and accessibility for all users. Administer backup systems to uphold robust business continuity and disaster recovery protocols.
• Collaborating for Continuous Improvement: Work closely with senior IT staff and external vendors to resolve issues, participate in strategic planning sessions, and contribute to initiatives that enhance IT service delivery and user experience.
• Maintaining Documentation and Compliance: Keep meticulous records of support activities, asset inventories, and system changes to ensure transparency and accountability. Ensure all IT operations adhere to organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Technical Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of Windows 11, Windows Server (2019 and above), Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services, VMware vSphere, Microsoft 365, and Cisco networking solutions. Proven experience in deploying standardized builds for laptops and PCs using imaging tools.
• Networking and Infrastructure: A strong understanding of local IT networks, including their setup, monitoring, and optimization, to ensure robust connectivity and performance.
