Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Supervisor - Distribution to join our dynamic team at DHL in Saudi Arabia, Missouri. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and optimize daily distribution operations to ensure seamless logistics processes, timely deliveries, and exceptional customer service. Your leadership will drive efficiency, safety, and productivity within our distribution center while maintaining compliance with company standards and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise a team of distribution associates, providing clear direction, training, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing workforce. Motivate employees to achieve operational goals and maintain a safe, productive work environment.
• Process Optimization: Monitor and analyze distribution workflows to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline processes, including order picking, packing, and shipping activities.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to DHL’s safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and local labor laws. Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and training sessions to minimize workplace hazards and maintain a secure environment for all employees.
• Performance Management: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, order accuracy, and productivity metrics. Generate reports, analyze data, and present insights to senior management to support data-driven decision-making.
• Customer Focus: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer service, and transportation, to resolve customer inquiries and ensure order fulfillment meets or exceeds expectations. Maintain open communication channels to address operational challenges proactively.
• Inventory Control: Oversee inventory management processes, including receiving, storage, and dispatch activities. Verify accuracy, reconcile discrepancies, and implement inventory control measures to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
• Technology Utilization: Leverage DHL’s proprietary software and tools, such as warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms, to monitor operations, track shipments, and generate actionable reports. Stay updated on industry advancements to drive innovation within the distribution center.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in distribution, warehouse operations, or logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Prior experience in the transportation or courier industry is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with barcode scanning systems and RFID technology is a plus.
• Leadership Abilities: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills to foster collaboration and drive employee engagement.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to improve operational efficiency. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Certifications: Valid forklift operator certification and OSHA safety training are required. Additional certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or project management are advantageous.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based in Saudi Arabia, Missouri. The role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating material handling equipment. The distribution center operates in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment, with shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be prepared to work flexible hours to meet operational demands.
