Cloud Project Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Project Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will provide comprehensive support to the Program Manager, ensuring the delivery of exceptional consultancy services, maintaining rigorous quality control, and overseeing the quantity and quality of work performed. Your primary responsibility will be to drive the end-to-end implementation of cloud platforms and elements, ensuring seamless task fulfillment and guiding consultants through the Cloud program’s lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cloud Project Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and executing complex cloud infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:

• Cloud Platform Implementation: Oversee the deployment of telco cloud infrastructure, including Infrastructure, Hypervisor, Virtualized Infrastructure Manager (VIM), Cloud Infrastructure and Security Management (CISM), Virtual Network Function Managers (VNFMs), Container Network Function Managers (CNFMs), Network Functions Virtualization Orchestrator (NFVO), Data Center Software-Defined Networking (DC SDN), Wide Area Network (WAN) solutions, load balancers, firewalls, and various management and automation tools.
• Project Leadership: Lead the implementation of cloud infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and client requirements. Drive the deployment of Management and Orchestration (MANO) components, adhering to industry standards for VNFMs and NFVO.
• Integration and Handover: Facilitate the end-to-end horizontal and vertical integration of Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) and Container Network Functions (CNFs), ensuring a smooth transition to Infrastructure Operations.
• Consultant Management: Supervise consultant services, maintain quality and quantity benchmarks, and guide the team to ensure task fulfillment and adherence to project deliverables.
• Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans for cloud rollouts, establish robust project procedures, and set clear objectives and priorities aligned with project scope and client expectations.
• Progress Monitoring: Track project progress proactively, identify bottlenecks, and resolve issues to ensure timely execution and adherence to key milestones. Clear all cloud-related dependencies in accordance with the overall project plan.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks to program delivery and propose mitigation strategies to safeguard project timelines and outcomes.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with all stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and internal departments, to ensure well-coordinated and efficient project execution.
• Quality Assurance: Supervise completed work, compare results against project guidelines and plans, and ensure deliverables are compiled, documented, and presented to the client in the required format, quantity, and quality.
• Issue Resolution: Establish mechanisms to track, review, and clarify problem issues, identifying and implementing actions to resolve project-blocking challenges.
• Reporting and Communication: Conduct regular project progress review meetings with key stakeholders, including vendors and contractors. Review changing project requirements, organizational needs, and resource allocations, providing actionable recommendations for adjustments.
• Responsibility Matrix Enforcement: Define and ensure adherence to the Responsibility Matrix by all stakeholders to maintain accountability and streamline project workflows.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Telecommunications.
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with a proven track record in cloud infrastructure and project management.
• Certifications: Valid Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2), with extensive knowledge of project management methodologies and professional experience in program/project management and delivery.
• Core Skills: Exceptional teamwork, communication, and knowledge transfer capabilities. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience in team building.
• Analytical and Reporting Skills: Proficiency in executive management reporting, presentations, and dashboard concepts, coupled with strong analytical abilities.
• Communication Proficiency: High-level presentation skills and excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an added advantage.
