In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for delivering high-impact solutions that safeguard substations, transformers, inverters, and other critical components from faults, overloads, and disturbances. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of protection schemes across High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) systems, ensuring seamless integration with modern energy storage technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Design and Verification: Develop, review, and validate protection settings and logic for BESS infrastructure, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and project-specific requirements. Utilize advanced simulation tools and analytical techniques to model protection schemes for substations, transformers, and inverter-based resources.
• Technical Analysis: Conduct comprehensive protection coordination studies, fault analysis, and short-circuit calculations to identify vulnerabilities and optimize system performance. Apply rigorous engineering principles to assess protection relay settings and ensure seamless interaction between HV, MV, and LV protection systems.
• Commissioning and Testing: Oversee the testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of protection relays from leading manufacturers, including SECO, Siemens, ABB, and Schneider. Ensure adherence to stringent quality and safety standards throughout the deployment process, from initial setup to final validation.
• Troubleshooting and Corrective Actions: Investigate and resolve complex protection system issues, including tripping events and operational anomalies. Implement data-driven corrective measures to enhance system reliability and minimize downtime, leveraging your expertise in fault diagnosis and protection logic.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities strictly adhere to GCC standards, SEC regulations, and project-specific safety guidelines. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving industry standards and incorporate best practices into your work to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
• Collaboration and Integration: Act as a technical liaison between engineering teams, site operations, sub-contractors, and grid authorities. Facilitate seamless integration of protection systems during the project lifecycle, fostering cross-functional collaboration to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
