Director - Parks and Green Spaces

About the Role

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Parks and Green Spaces to lead the development, management, and strategic growth of Qiddiya Investment Company’s expansive portfolio of parks and green spaces. This pivotal role will be responsible for shaping the future of Qiddiya’s urban and recreational landscapes, ensuring they align with the highest standards of sustainability, innovation, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of landscape architecture, urban planning, and environmental stewardship, combined with exceptional leadership and operational expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement long-term strategies for the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of parks and green spaces that reflect Qiddiya’s commitment to sustainability, accessibility, and world-class design.
• Project Oversight: Lead the planning, design, and execution of large-scale park projects, collaborating with architects, engineers, and environmental specialists to deliver innovative and functional outdoor environments.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with government entities, community groups, and private partners to ensure alignment with local needs and regulatory requirements while advancing Qiddiya’s vision.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of park facilities, including maintenance, safety protocols, and visitor services, to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all users.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Champion eco-friendly practices, such as water conservation, native landscaping, and renewable energy integration, to minimize environmental impact and promote biodiversity.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for park development and maintenance, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing team of professionals, including landscape architects, horticulturists, and park rangers, to drive operational efficiency and innovation.
• Community Impact: Engage with local communities through outreach programs, educational initiatives, and public events to foster a sense of ownership and pride in Qiddiya’s green spaces.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in landscape architecture, urban planning, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications, such as LEED or similar credentials, are highly desirable.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of delivering large-scale park projects, a deep commitment to sustainability, and exceptional interpersonal skills to inspire and lead cross-functional teams. Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Arabic is a strong advantage. This role is based on-site in Saudi Arabia and requires a willingness to travel as needed to oversee projects and engage with stakeholders.
