Position Overview
The Marketing Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the strategic marketing and corporate communication initiatives of the organization. This position is designed for a dynamic professional who will collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop, execute, and monitor comprehensive marketing campaigns while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of analytical prowess, creative thinking, and operational acumen to support the design, implementation, and evaluation of marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility, customer engagement, and market competitiveness. Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Corporate Communication Strategy
The Marketing Assistant Manager will contribute to the end-to-end development of marketing initiatives, including but not limited to:
- Conducting market research, competitor intelligence, and market segmentation to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
- Assisting in the design and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, such as digital, print, broadcast, and event-based platforms.
- Developing and maintaining a robust media relations strategy to secure high-impact placements in reputable publications, broadcast outlets, and online platforms.
- Monitoring and analyzing brand performance metrics, including awareness, equity, consumer diagnostics, and brand perception, to assess the effectiveness of marketing efforts and recommend improvements.
- Training and mentoring internal stakeholders to cultivate a network of brand champions who can advocate for and uphold the organization’s branding and advertising policies.
Document & Brand Management
This role also encompasses the consolidation and management of marketing and corporate communication materials, ensuring that all documentation is current, accurate, and accessible. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating with the Document Management Department to update databases with marketing collateral, policy documents, competitor intelligence, and benchmark data on a regular basis.
- Supporting non-complex branding initiatives, such as brand image analysis and brand communication, to maintain consistency and relevance in the market.
- Centralizing and managing all intellectual properties (IPs) generated or acquired through corporate communication activities, including brand imagery, copyrights from advertising campaigns, software licenses, and database accesses.
- Overseeing the trademark registration process by maintaining a comprehensive library of trademark documents and ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements.
Operational & Team Leadership
The Marketing Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day team operations, fostering a collaborative work environment, and ensuring the successful execution of marketing projects within budgetary constraints. Key tasks include:
- Communicating campaign goals, plans, and budgets to team members to facilitate the timely and cost-effective completion of assigned tasks.
- Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on public relations (PR) results on a quarterly basis to evaluate the impact of communication strategies and identify areas for enhancement.
- Evaluating partnership, sponsorship, and advertising opportunities to identify mutually beneficial collaborations that align with organizational objectives.
- Resolving non-routine queries related to marketing material development, ensuring adherence to established standards and industry best practices.
- Reviewing technical reports related to marketing and corporate communications and forwarding them to senior management for strategic analysis and decision-making.
- Providing mentorship and support to team members, resolving routine queries to maintain workflow continuity and operational efficiency.
- Collaborating with other supervisors to build strong working relationships, identify synergies, and drive cross-functional initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. A Master’s Degree in Marketing or Public Relations is considered an asset and may provide a competitive advantage in this role.
Professional Experience
Applicants should possess 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in marketing, market research, digital marketing, advertising, public relations, or a related field. Prior experience within the technology or telecommunications industry is highly desirable, as it demonstrates an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within this dynamic sector.
Skills & Competencies
Candidates must exhibit a strong foundation in strategic marketing, analytical thinking, and project management. Proficiency in digital marketing tools, media relations, and brand management is essential. Additionally, the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to collaborate across departments is critical. Certifications in marketing, digital media, or related disciplines are advantageous and may enhance the candidate’s profile.
