Position Overview

As an Industrial Hygiene Specialist III, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding employee health and well-being by identifying, assessing, and mitigating occupational hazards within the workplace. Key Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of this position include:

• Risk Assessment and Hazard Control: Conduct thorough evaluations of chemical, biological, and psychosocial risks in the workplace, continuously monitoring and addressing potential hazards to maintain a safe operational environment.
• Epidemic Preparedness and Response: Lead the development and implementation of plans and procedures to mitigate the spread of potential epidemic outbreaks within the company, ensuring robust emergency preparedness.
• Emergency Response Policies: Collaborate with internal teams to formulate and refine emergency preparedness and response policies, covering hazardous materials, biological threats, and epidemics to enhance workplace safety.
• Comprehensive Risk Evaluations: Perform detailed risk assessments, providing data-driven recommendations to mitigate identified hazards and improve operational health standards.
• Operational Procedure Reviews: Analyze existing operational procedures to identify processes that may pose health risks, recommending corrective measures to enhance safety and compliance.
• Toxic Waste Management: Develop and enforce regulations for the safe disposal of toxic waste, ensuring that disposal systems meet regulatory and environmental health standards.
• Workplace Inspections: Conduct regular and unannounced inspections to monitor workplace conditions, identify potential health risks, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Prepare detailed monthly reports and statistical data on incidents and safety performance to inform stakeholders.
• Regulatory Compliance and Documentation: Stay abreast of the latest Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant with all relevant regulations. Manage and maintain accurate documentation related to incident notifications, inspections, and work permits.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:

• Education:
  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Desired: Master’s degree in health sciences or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in occupational health and safety, with a proven track record in risk assessment, hazard control, and emergency response.
