Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Technical Office Engineer – Wet Utilities to join our dynamic team at Esnad Contracting, based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the planning, design, and execution of wet utility projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications. Key Responsibilities

• Technical Design and Planning: Develop detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for wet utility projects, including water distribution networks, stormwater drainage systems, and sanitary sewer systems. Utilize industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools to create accurate and compliant designs.
• Project Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments to ensure projects meet local and international regulatory standards. Collaborate with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
• Site Support and Coordination: Provide on-site technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing shop drawings, resolving design conflicts, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets. Work closely with site engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to address any technical challenges that may arise.
• Quality Assurance and Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure all wet utility installations meet the required standards. Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with design specifications and safety protocols.
• Cost Estimation and Budget Management: Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and resource allocation plans for wet utility projects. Monitor project expenditures to ensure financial efficiency and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Collaboration and Communication: Serve as a liaison between the technical office, site teams, and clients to facilitate seamless communication and project execution. Present technical findings, progress reports, and solutions to stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in civil engineering technologies and methodologies related to wet utilities. Recommend innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency, sustainability, and performance.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in water resources engineering or a similar discipline is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with at least 3 years specifically focused on wet utility projects. Experience in the construction industry, particularly in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region, is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, EPANET, or similar tools. Familiarity with GIS and BIM technologies is advantageous.
• Licenses and Certifications: Valid engineering license (e.g., P.E., CEng) and certifications in relevant areas such as project management or quality control are preferred.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in both English and Arabic is beneficial.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and international standards, codes, and regulations pertaining to wet utility projects, including Saudi Building Code (SBC) and environmental regulations.
