Reporting to the **Chief Airspace Designer**, this strategic role is instrumental in optimizing airspace structures, procedures, and routing systems. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing air traffic control (ATC) efficiency, reducing congestion, and ensuring compliance with the highest safety and performance benchmarks—all while adhering to key performance indicators (KPIs) and budgetary constraints.

Core Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span a broad spectrum of airspace design and regulatory functions, ensuring that every aspect of your work aligns with international best practices and local regulatory frameworks:

• IFP (Information for Planning) Design: Develop and refine high-quality, accurate, and timely IFP documentation to support or replace textual content in eAIP (electronic Aeronautical Information Publication), eAIP Amendments, eAIP Supplements, and AIC (Aeronautical Information Circular) documents. Leverage cutting-edge technology to meet industry expectations and streamline the design process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to verify and validate IFP accuracy, ensuring full compliance with GACA (General Authority of Civil Aviation) regulations and the latest ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standards. Maintain strict adherence to safety, quality, and presentation guidelines to guarantee aircraft safety across KSA’s airspace.
• Obstacle Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough data collection and analysis on all obstacles that may impact air navigation, coordinating closely with regulatory departments to approve necessary implementations. Evaluate obstacles to assess their potential impact on IFP, classify them appropriately, and maintain comprehensive documentation. Determine the maximum allowable heights for proposed structures to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Aeronautical Study and Hazard Analysis: Lead aeronautical studies to evaluate the impact of existing or proposed obstacles, operations, and procedures on air navigation safety. Assess potential hazards to VFR (Visual Flight Rules) and IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) operations, including arrival, departure, and en-route procedures. Analyze the implications for public-use aerodromes, minimum obstacle clearance altitudes, and approved instrument approach/departure procedures.
• IFP Assessment and Presentation: Provide technical expertise to designers to ensure IFP charts are presented in the correct format, free from errors, and unambiguous under all operating conditions. Edit and refine IFP charts to enhance clarity, readability, and accuracy, supporting both internal and external stakeholders in the aviation industry.
• Policies, Processes, and Compliance: Uphold strict adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards in all daily activities. Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement while aligning with evolving business needs and global best practices.
