General Role Overview

As a Challenge Course Instructor at Miraval The Red Sea, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating and instructing a diverse range of high and low ropes challenge course activities. Your responsibilities will include leading team-building exercises, climbing walls, obstacle courses, and other adventure-based programs designed to foster personal growth, teamwork, and mental resilience. This role uniquely combines physical challenges with mindfulness, creating dynamic and supportive environments where guests can thrive individually and collaboratively. You will work closely with the fitness and recreation team to develop innovative, holistic experiences that align with Miraval’s wellness philosophy. Key Responsibilities

As a Challenge Course Instructor, your core responsibilities will include:

• Challenge Course Facilitation & Guest Engagement:
  • Lead high and low ropes challenge course activities, including climbing walls, team-building exercises, obstacle courses, and other adventure-based experiences.
  • Guide guests through mindful movement, incorporating team-building strategies, problem-solving, and mental resilience techniques.
  • Ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that caters to varying fitness levels and abilities while fostering empowerment and positivity.
  • Provide clear instruction on safety protocols, equipment use, and movement techniques to guarantee a high-quality guest experience.
  • Develop creative team-building exercises that encourage collaboration, communication, and trust-building among participants.
  • Integrate mindfulness techniques during activities to enhance guests’ mental and emotional well-being, aligning with Miraval’s wellness philosophy.
• Program Development & Innovation:
  • Collaborate with the Fitness & Recreation Manager to design and implement new challenge course programs tailored to diverse guest demographics.
  • Stay informed on emerging challenge course trends and team-building strategies, adapting programs to ensure they remain innovative and aligned with Miraval’s wellness ethos.
  • Develop themed challenge experiences, such as sunrise team-building challenges, mindful problem-solving sessions, and wellness-focused adventure retreats.
  • Assess guest progress during activities, offering constructive feedback and adjusting programs based on individual or group needs to maximize impact.
• Safety & Operational Excellence:
  • Conduct thorough pre-activity safety briefings and ensure all guests are equipped with appropriate gear and understand safety protocols.
  • Oversee the setup, maintenance, and inspection of challenge course equipment to ensure it meets the highest safety standards.
  • Adhere rigorously to safety protocols and emergency procedures, maintaining guest safety throughout all challenge activities and courses.
  • Participate in regular safety training and drills to stay updated on best practices and emergency response techniques.
