Supervisor-Stewards

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor-Stewards to join our dynamic team at W Hotels in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and support the Stewards team to ensure exceptional cleanliness and operational efficiency in our Food and Beverage & Culinary departments. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and guest satisfaction while fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Supervisor-Stewards, your core responsibilities will include:

• Team Leadership and Coordination: Direct and assist Stewards to enhance the efficiency of clean-up operations. Oversee the hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating of team members to ensure peak performance and adherence to company standards.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure that water temperature and chemical levels are appropriate for cleaning tasks and are accurately documented. Assist with banquet plate-ups and support kitchen staff by providing necessary items and maintaining adequate stock levels for banquets and buffets. Transport and organize cleaned items to their designated locations.
• Equipment and Safety Compliance: Operate and maintain essential cleaning equipment, including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management, and complete required safety training and certifications.
• Guest Service and Professionalism: Welcome and acknowledge guests in accordance with company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs. Maintain a professional appearance, including clean uniforms, and uphold the confidentiality of proprietary information. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues to support team goals and ensure adherence to quality expectations.
• Physical Demands: Perform job duties that may require moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and reach overhead or below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as needed.
• Additional Duties: Fulfill other reasonable job responsibilities as assigned by supervisors to support the overall success of the department and the hotel.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

• Education: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of related work experience in a supervisory or operational role within the hospitality or food service industry is essential. At least 1 year of prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required for this position.
• Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are critical. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail is essential.
