Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Project Engineer I to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of complex technical projects within the mining systems domain. The Project Engineer I will serve as a critical point of escalation for technical challenges, driving resolution through collaboration with cross-functional teams while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Engineer I will play an integral role in the deployment of advanced mining solutions, combining hands-on technical engagement with strategic oversight. Core responsibilities include:

• Project Deployment & Execution: Actively participate in the deployment of complex mining systems, ensuring efficient and timely implementation while adhering to budgetary constraints and quality benchmarks.
• Technical Support & Maintenance: Provide robust support for software systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and deliver bespoke customizations to meet unique customer requirements.
• System Configuration & Customization: Own and implement customer-specific system configurations, utilizing scripting tools to tailor solutions for optimal performance.
• Onsite Installation & Problem Solving: Contribute to onsite system installations and address complex technical challenges involving integrated systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
• Risk Management & Escalation: Proactively identify and communicate risks, technical issues, and potential customer impacts to relevant stakeholders, including Mining Services teams, to facilitate timely resolution.
• Technical Knowledge & Industry Engagement: Maintain up-to-date expertise in current and upcoming product offerings, as well as emerging technologies and industry trends through professional networks and continuous learning.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with sales teams in a pre-sales capacity, providing technical insights during presentations and customer engagements to support business development efforts.
• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure adherence to Hexagon’s documentation standards, reporting protocols, and workplace health and safety policies, including participation in audits and safety initiatives.
• Customer & Team Engagement: Represent Hexagon Mining in a professional and courteous manner, fostering strong customer relationships and collaborating effectively with internal teams to drive project success.

Skills & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of Linux/Unix environments, open-source software development or support, and relational database setup and management.
