Scope of Responsibilities

The Project Engineer I will operate at a high level, possessing a comprehensive understanding of the mining systems deployed by Hexagon. You will act as a primary escalation resource for technical issues raised by the team, guiding them through resolution processes and coordinating with other technical staff or stakeholders as needed. Your role will involve close collaboration with Project Managers to ensure the timely and cost-effective deployment of mining systems, while optimizing efficiency in system and product deployment. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing software, delivering bespoke customizations, troubleshooting system issues, and implementing customer-specific configurations. Proficiency in scripting tools will be essential for executing system customizations and addressing complex, multi-system challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Deployment: Actively participate in the hands-on deployment of complex mining solutions, ensuring seamless integration and operational readiness.
• Technical Support & Maintenance: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for software systems, including troubleshooting, bespoke customizations, and customer-specific configurations.
• System Installation & Configuration: Lead or support onsite system installation efforts, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and project timelines.
• Problem Solving: Address complex technical issues involving integrated systems, leveraging analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders regarding project risks, issues, and resolution strategies. Escalate critical issues requiring cross-functional input to ensure timely resolution.
• Technical Knowledge & Innovation: Stay abreast of current and upcoming product offerings, as well as emerging strategies and technologies in systems support. Foster professional growth through industry links and memberships in relevant organizations.
• Reporting & Documentation: Provide regular updates on project status, issues, and resolution methods. Ensure compliance with Hexagon’s documentation and reporting standards, systems, and processes.
• Pre-Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team in a pre-sales capacity, contributing to technical presentations and providing expert guidance to potential customers.
• Professional Representation: Uphold Hexagon Mining’s brand reputation by representing the company in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner at all times.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to Hexagon Mining’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, actively participating in audits and following all safety instructions to ensure the well-being of yourself and others.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the ongoing success of the team and the organization.
