Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Oracle Database Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

• Database Administration & Configuration: Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle Database (11g/12c/18c/19c+) and Microsoft SQL Server (2012–2022) environments, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks through advanced SQL tuning, query optimization, and leveraging tools like AWR/ASH for Oracle and performance monitoring features in SQL Server.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard, Real Application Clusters (RAC), and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and replication solutions to ensure 24/7 uptime and resilient disaster recovery strategies.
• Backup & Recovery Management: Oversee Oracle RMAN and Data Pump (expdp/impdp) operations, as well as SQL Server backup and restore processes, ensuring data integrity and minimal recovery time objectives (RTOs).
• Database Security & Compliance: Enforce robust security protocols, including access controls, auditing, and compliance standards, to safeguard sensitive data and mitigate risks.
• Incident & Change Management: Lead production incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and change activities while adhering to strict SLAs and IT governance frameworks.
• Collaboration & Documentation: Partner with application, development, and cloud teams to troubleshoot database-related issues, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Environment Synchronization: Execute database upgrades, migrations, patching, cloning, and environment synchronization with precision to support scalable and future-proof infrastructure.

Technical Expertise Required

To excel in this role, you must possess:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator, with deep expertise in both **Oracle Database (11g–19c+)** and **Microsoft SQL Server (2012–2022)**.
• Proven proficiency in:
• Oracle: RMAN, Data Pump, SQL*Loader, RAC, Data Guard, AWR/ASH, tablespace/datafile management, and advanced performance tuning.
• SQL Server: T-SQL optimization, Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, replication, log shipping, and backup/restore operations.
• Production Support & Troubleshooting: Extensive experience in resolving complex issues in high-availability environments, including root-cause analysis and proactive monitoring.
• Upgrade & Migration Leadership: Experience leading database upgrades, migrations, and environment synchronization with minimal disruption.
• Security & Compliance: Knowledge of database security best practices, access controls, and compliance frameworks to ensure data protection.
