Your Opportunity

We are actively seeking a seasoned Application Architect to lead the definition, maintenance, and governance of application architecture within enterprise and banking environments. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for crafting and evolving current-state and target-state application landscapes, establishing robust application and integration standards, and ensuring that all application designs adhere to approved Enterprise Architecture principles. Collaboration will be key as you work alongside Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, Security, Data, Infrastructure, and development teams to drive application modernization, rationalization, integration, and transformation initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

• Architecture Leadership: Define and maintain the application architecture and landscape, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological advancements.
• Strategic Design: Develop and maintain current-state and target-state application architectures, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Standards & Governance: Establish and enforce application architecture principles, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance across projects.
• Component Design: Design application components, define their relationships, dependencies, and integration patterns to optimize performance and scalability.
• Integration & API Architecture: Define and maintain integration and API architectures to facilitate seamless connectivity and interoperability across systems.
• Risk Assessment: Evaluate application dependencies, assess technology risks, and provide mitigation strategies to safeguard enterprise systems.
• Compliance & Review: Ensure all application designs comply with approved Enterprise Architecture standards and conduct thorough reviews to approve architecture and solution designs.
• Transformation Support: Champion application modernization, rationalization, and transformation initiatives to enhance agility, reduce complexity, and drive innovation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, Security, Data, Infrastructure, and development teams, to align architecture with business capabilities and requirements.
• Documentation & Repository Management: Maintain the application repository, architecture models, and related documentation to ensure transparency and traceability.
• Monitoring & Compliance: Continuously monitor compliance with approved application architecture standards and principles, addressing deviations proactively.

Your Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess the following:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in Application Architecture, Solution Architecture, Software Architecture, or equivalent roles.
• Proven experience in banking or financial services, with a strong understanding of industry-specific challenges and requirements.
• Familiarity with working in a SAMA-regulated environment is considered a significant advantage.
• Deep expertise in application architecture design, API and integration architectures, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with application modernization, rationalization, and transformation initiatives.
• Strong grasp of Enterprise Architecture principles and frameworks, including governance, design reviews, and technology standards.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively and manage stakeholders at all levels.
• Preferred certifications include TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architecture, or similar credentials that validate your expertise in enterprise and cloud architecture.
