Position Overview

As a Medical Science Liaison – Immunology (Respiratory & GI) within Sanofi’s Specialty Care team, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between scientific innovation and clinical practice. Key Responsibilities

The Medical Science Liaison will be responsible for a range of critical functions designed to foster scientific collaboration and ensure the dissemination of accurate, balanced medical information. Your core duties will include:

• Scientific Relationship Building: Establish and maintain trusted, balanced scientific relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and academic institutions to deepen understanding of research needs and opportunities within the Immunology (Respiratory & GI) therapeutic area.
• Healthcare Ecosystem Insights: Conduct comprehensive stakeholder mapping to identify key players and milestones within the healthcare ecosystem, ensuring a thorough understanding of patient journeys and unmet medical needs.
• Medical Information Dissemination: Provide healthcare professionals, payers, and decision-makers with scientifically accurate, balanced, and timely information about Sanofi’s Immunology portfolio, ensuring alignment with regulatory and ethical standards.
• Clinical Research Coordination: Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs and clinical teams to coordinate Phase IV clinical projects, facilitate investigator-sponsored study submissions, support publication strategies, and assist in site selection to advance clinical research initiatives.
• Product Expertise and Training Support: Serve as a product expert by supporting commercial teams during training sessions, addressing medical objections, and providing guidance on the scientific rationale behind Sanofi’s therapies.
• Real-World Insights and Feedback: Act as the primary conduit for gathering real-world medical insights and scientific expert feedback from the field, translating these insights into strategic recommendations for brand teams to enhance product development and commercial strategies.
• Conference Representation: Represent Sanofi at key medical and scientific conferences by staffing medical information booths, gathering competitive intelligence, and observing sponsored speakers to stay abreast of industry trends and innovations.
• Adverse Event Management: Receive, document, and report adverse events in accordance with company procedures, ensuring compliance with pharmacovigilance requirements and contributing to risk management plan implementation and monitoring.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong academic foundation and a blend of technical and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Education: A university degree in life sciences is required; an MD, PhD, or PharmD is strongly preferred to ensure a deep understanding of clinical and scientific principles.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in specialty care, with a focus on Immunology, Gastroenterology, or related fields, is highly desirable. Prior experience in a Medical Science Liaison role or within Medical Affairs is a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge of clinical research methodology, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance and scientific rigor in all activities.
• Communication and Influence: Exceptional ability to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively at various management levels, including with external scientific experts, healthcare professionals, and internal stakeholders.
• Soft Skills: A self-motivated, results-driven team player with strong business acumen, resource planning abilities, and the capacity to inspire and motivate others to achieve shared goals.
• Languages: Full professional proficiency in both English and Arabic is essential to engage with diverse stakeholders and navigate the healthcare landscape in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
