Role Overview

The Baggage Handling System (BHS) Operations Operative plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of the Red Sea International Airport’s baggage handling infrastructure. This position is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and maintaining the BHS on a shift basis to guarantee optimal performance, compliance with safety standards, and alignment with operational requirements. The role demands a proactive, customer-focused approach and the ability to work effectively under pressure while collaborating with airlines, ground handlers, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Baggage Operations Monitoring: Oversee inbound and outbound baggage flows, reclaim halls, and check-in operations to ensure smooth and timely processing.
• Performance Tracking: Record and analyze baggage handling performance metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), incidents, and shift activities to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Inspections and Patrols: Conduct regular inspections and patrols to verify compliance with operational, health, safety, and cleanliness standards across the BHS infrastructure.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to baggage handling procedures and Red Sea International Airport (RSI) requirements, promptly reporting operational issues, non-compliance, and equipment faults to the appropriate teams.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with airlines, ground handlers, service providers, and other stakeholders to support efficient baggage operations and resolve any logistical challenges.
• Hotel Baggage Tracking: Monitor and track baggage deliveries to and from hotels to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
• Passenger Support: Assist passengers with baggage-related inquiries and provide support during equipment failures or operational disruptions.
• Team Collaboration: Maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders to foster a cohesive and high-performing operational environment.
• Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the BHS Operations Manager to support the overall efficiency of the baggage handling system.
