Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Specialist – Senior Specialist to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining robust city databases that underpin our infrastructure and platform operations across multiple districts. Key Responsibilities

• Database Administration and Maintenance: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of city-wide database systems that support critical infrastructure and platform operations. Ensure databases are configured, updated, and maintained to meet organizational and industry standards.
• Performance and Capacity Management: Monitor and manage the availability, capacity, and performance of database environments to ensure optimal efficiency and reliability. Identify trends, anticipate resource needs, and implement proactive measures to prevent bottlenecks or downtime.
• Security and Compliance Assurance: Lead efforts to ensure database platforms adhere to stringent security protocols and compliance requirements. Implement and enforce security best practices, conduct regular audits, and mitigate risks to protect sensitive data and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Troubleshooting and Incident Resolution: Serve as a primary point of contact for database-related issues, diagnosing problems, and implementing timely resolutions to minimize operational disruptions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges and restore service levels promptly.
• Collaboration and Support: Work closely with IT teams, stakeholders, and end-users to provide expert guidance on database-related initiatives, upgrades, and migrations. Foster a collaborative environment that promotes knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, changes, and procedures. Generate performance reports, security assessments, and compliance documentation to support decision-making and audit requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in database administration, with a proven track record in managing large-scale database environments. Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and familiarity with cloud-based database solutions are essential. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment are critical.
