MEP Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MEP Engineer to join our dynamic team at KEO International Consultants in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and overseeing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring optimal functionality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Development: Lead the conceptualization, design, and detailed engineering of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, fire protection, plumbing, and drainage systems, in alignment with project requirements and client specifications.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM 360. Ensure all documentation adheres to local regulations, codes, and best practices.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into overall project designs. Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to address technical challenges and ensure timely project delivery.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Verify that all MEP installations and designs comply with Saudi Building Code (SBC), NFPA, IEC, and other relevant standards. Perform quality checks and resolve discrepancies to maintain the highest levels of safety and performance.
• Budget & Resource Management: Assist in preparing cost estimates, material procurement plans, and resource allocation to optimize project budgets. Monitor expenditures and propose cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Innovation & Sustainability: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and sustainable practices in MEP engineering. Recommend energy-efficient solutions, such as smart building systems and renewable energy integration, to enhance project sustainability and reduce operational costs.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters. Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, with a specialization in MEP systems. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE, LEED, or CIBSE) is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in MEP engineering, preferably within the construction, infrastructure, or consulting sectors in the Middle East.
• Proficiency in MEP design software, including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, Dialux, and HAP. Familiarity with BIM methodologies and tools is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data and translate it into practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory authorities.
• In-depth knowledge of local and international codes, including Saudi Building Code (SBC), NEC, IEC, and ASHRAE standards.
• A proactive approach to project management, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
