Position Overview

Ma’aden is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

As a Geotechnical Engineer at Ma’aden, your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Site Investigations: Conduct comprehensive geotechnical site investigations to assess soil, rock, and groundwater conditions, providing critical data for project planning and execution.
• Design and Analysis: Develop and implement geotechnical designs for foundations, slopes, embankments, and underground structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Risk Assessment: Perform detailed geotechnical risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend mitigation strategies, safeguarding both personnel and assets.
• Monitoring and Inspection: Oversee geotechnical monitoring programs, including instrumentation and field testing, to evaluate ground behavior and validate design assumptions throughout project lifecycles.
• Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including civil, structural, and mining engineers, to integrate geotechnical considerations into project workflows. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for stakeholders at all levels.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all geotechnical activities adhere to local and international regulations, as well as Ma’aden’s internal policies and sustainability goals.
• Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging geotechnical technologies, methodologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in project outcomes and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., P.E., CEng) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record in mining, civil infrastructure, or heavy construction projects.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, FLAC) and familiarity with industry standards such as Eurocode, AASHTO, or equivalent regional codes.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to data analysis and interpretation.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
