Senior Irrigation Engineer

Position Overview

HanmiGlobal Saudi is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Irrigation Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing advanced irrigation systems that enhance agricultural productivity, optimize water usage, and support sustainable farming practices. Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Development: Lead the design and engineering of state-of-the-art irrigation systems, including sprinkler, drip, and subsurface systems, tailored to the specific needs of diverse agricultural environments.
• Project Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of irrigation projects, from initial feasibility studies and conceptual design to installation, commissioning, and post-implementation monitoring, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
• Water Efficiency Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to maximize water efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance crop yields through advanced irrigation techniques and smart water management solutions.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all irrigation systems and projects comply with local, national, and international regulations, standards, and best practices, including safety and environmental protocols.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients, agricultural experts, government agencies, and other stakeholders to align irrigation solutions with project objectives, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals.
• Technological Integration: Leverage cutting-edge technologies such as IoT, automation, and remote sensing to enhance the performance, monitoring, and maintenance of irrigation systems.
• Performance Analysis and Reporting: Conduct detailed performance evaluations of irrigation systems, analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders and senior management.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in irrigation engineering is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in irrigation engineering, with a proven track record in designing and managing large-scale irrigation projects.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software tools for irrigation system design, such as AutoCAD, GIS, HEC-RAS, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of hydrology, soil science, and crop water requirements, with the ability to apply this expertise to practical engineering solutions.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects within budget and on schedule.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality and precision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
• Valid professional engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
