IBM Resiliency Orchestration L3 Engineer – Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled IBM Consultant specializing in IBM Resiliency Orchestration to join our elite team of engineers. In this critical role, you will serve as the final escalation point for complex technical challenges, ensuring the seamless operation of IBM’s advanced resiliency and disaster recovery solutions. Your expertise will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust recovery workflows that safeguard enterprise applications against disruptions, while also enhancing operational efficiency through automation and strategic integration.

Core Responsibilities

The IBM Consultant will be responsible for the following key functions:

• Design and Implementation of Recovery Workflows: Develop and maintain automated failover and failback processes by leveraging over 450 pre-packaged patterns tailored for enterprise applications. Configure Cyber Incident Recovery (CIR) features, including immutable Write Once, Read Many (WORM) storage and air-gapped mechanisms, to fortify defenses against malware, ransomware, and other cyber threats.
• Advanced Troubleshooting and L3 Support: Act as the primary escalation resource for resolving complex issues within the IBM Resiliency Orchestration software suite. Conduct in-depth root-cause analysis (RCA) to identify the underlying causes of replication failures or deviations from critical Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
• Automation and Scripting: Design and deploy custom scripts using languages such as Python, Bash, or Ansible to automate repetitive IT operations, thereby reducing operational overhead and enhancing system reliability. Integrate IBM Resiliency Orchestration with enterprise security platforms, including QRadar SOAR, SIEM, and Splunk, to enable proactive threat detection and response.
• Readiness Validation and Compliance: Execute automated, non-disruptive disaster recovery (DR) drills and dry runs to proactively identify potential recovery failures caused by environmental changes. Generate real-time compliance and audit reports through the centralized dashboard to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
• Strategic Advisory: Collaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps teams to align IBM Concert or Resiliency Orchestration tools with the organization’s broader resilience strategy. Provide expert guidance on hybrid multicloud infrastructure risks, identifying and mitigating potential outage points to enhance overall system resilience.

Technical Expertise and Requirements

To excel in this role, the IBM Consultant must possess the following technical competencies:

• IBM Infrastructure and Hybrid Cloud Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of IBM’s infrastructure solutions and hybrid cloud platforms, with a focus on designing resilient and scalable architectures.
• Scripting and Automation Skills: Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform, along with a deep understanding of network protocols to streamline operations and improve system reliability.
• Copy Data Management and Immutable Storage: Expertise in Copy Data Management (CDM) strategies and immutable storage technologies to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory standards.
