Role Overview: Senior Financial Analyst - BNPL
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team and collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this pivotal role, you will transform intricate financial and portfolio data into actionable insights that inform critical operating and funding decisions. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust financial models, forecasts, and analyses that guide our executive leadership, funding partners, board members, and investors. Ideal candidates are those who excel in building models from first principles, navigate imperfect data with confidence, and articulate commercial and liquidity insights with precision and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Modeling: Develop, validate, and maintain comprehensive driver-based financial models, including three-statement models, funding models, and scenario analyses. Ensure these models accurately reflect contract economics, yield projections, funding costs, credit losses, and servicing expenses, while linking them to cash flow, profitability, and balance sheet outcomes.
- Asset-Backed Financing: Oversee the analytical and reporting framework for asset-backed and warehouse financing facilities. This includes evaluating eligibility criteria, calculating borrowing-base availability, determining advance rates, tracking utilization, monitoring covenant headroom, and managing drawdown processes.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary operational finance liaison for external stakeholders, including lenders, banks, auditors, and external advisors. Prepare and deliver recurring reporting packages, respond to information requests, and cultivate strong, day-to-day working relationships to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Planning & Cash Flow Management: Take ownership of the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and short-term cash flow tracking. Monitor working capital dynamics and liquidity thresholds to proactively identify funding requirements and mitigate potential risks.
- Portfolio Analytics: Partner with the Risk team to conduct in-depth analyses of customer cohorts, vintage performance, days past due (DPD) trends, roll rates, and loss patterns. Translate these insights into actionable recommendations for pricing adjustments, credit strategies, and funding initiatives.
- Executive Decision Support: Create concise, high-impact presentations tailored for management, the board, and lenders. These materials will clearly articulate decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and propose strategic action steps to drive informed decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:
- Minimum of two years of relevant analytical finance experience in areas such as Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), financial modeling, corporate finance, transaction advisory, or investment banking, with a proven track record of independent ownership of projects.
- Direct experience within the fintech or BNPL sector, with a deep understanding of credit platforms, lending operations, or receivables-based business models.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel and financial modeling, including the ability to construct auditable, driver-based models from the ground up. Models should incorporate clear assumptions, logical frameworks, output metrics, sensitivity analyses, and built-in error checks.
- Strong commercial and cash flow judgment, enabling you to derive defensible financial insights from incomplete or complex operational data.
