Cost Analyst

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Cost Analyst to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, on-site role is designed for a finance professional with a passion for cost analysis, financial planning, and operational efficiency within a healthcare or regulated industry environment. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing service-line profitability, optimizing cost structures, and supporting strategic financial decision-making through rigorous data analysis and insightful reporting.

Key Responsibilities

The Cost Analyst will be responsible for a range of critical financial and analytical tasks, including:

• Cost Allocation: Accurately allocate shared and support costs across departments and service lines to ensure transparency and accountability in financial reporting.
• Unit-Cost Development: Calculate and analyze unit-cost measures such as cost per patient day, visit, procedure, and laboratory test to identify trends and opportunities for cost optimization.
• Profitability Analysis: Prepare detailed profitability assessments by department, service line, and physician to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and monthly variance analyses to monitor financial performance and align with organizational goals.
• Operational and Financial Analysis: Evaluate operational drivers, payer mix, and cost-efficiency opportunities to enhance financial sustainability and operational effectiveness.
• Month-End Financial Processes: Support month-end allocations, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely financial closings.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional experience in cost accounting, management accounting, budgeting, or financial analysis, with a strong preference for candidates with healthcare or hospital-costing experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Familiarity with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP platforms is considered a significant advantage.
• Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to drive operational and financial improvements.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
