Expert Platform Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Expert Platform Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient technology platforms that empower engineering teams to deliver enterprise applications and digital services with efficiency and reliability. Key Responsibilities

As an Expert Platform Engineer, your core responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of platform engineering and infrastructure management tasks. You will be expected to:

• Architect and Evolve Platform Solutions: Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient platform architectures that meet the evolving needs of engineering teams and business requirements. Develop engineering standards, design patterns, and technical practices to ensure consistency and reliability across platforms.
• Automate Infrastructure and Operations: Lead the development and enhancement of infrastructure automation capabilities, leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform to streamline provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources. Drive the adoption of cloud-native technologies and practices to optimize performance and scalability.
• Optimize CI/CD and Developer Tooling: Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows that enable seamless integration, testing, and delivery of applications. Enhance developer tooling to provide self-service capabilities that improve productivity and reduce time-to-market.
• Champion Containerization and Orchestration: Spearhead initiatives in containerization, orchestration, and cloud automation, with a strong focus on Kubernetes and AWS Cloud environments. Ensure platforms are optimized for performance, security, and cost-efficiency in production settings.
• Ensure Platform Security and Resilience: Implement and enforce security best practices, compliance standards, and resilience measures to protect platform integrity and data. Conduct thorough assessments to identify vulnerabilities and proactively mitigate risks, particularly in environments subject to stringent regulatory requirements such as PCI-DSS.
• Resolve Complex Technical Challenges: Lead the diagnosis and resolution of intricate platform and infrastructure issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver timely and effective solutions. Provide advanced technical guidance to resolve escalations and improve system reliability.
• Drive Platform Modernization: Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic improvements to modernize platforms, enhance scalability, and align with business objectives. Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations to ensure the platform remains competitive and future-ready.
• Mentor and Collaborate: Act as a technical mentor and advisor to engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with architecture, cybersecurity, cloud, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and application development teams to align platform strategies with organizational goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Infrastructure, with a proven track record in designing and supporting highly available, scalable, and resilient platforms.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Expert-level proficiency in Kubernetes and AWS Cloud, with extensive experience deploying and managing these technologies in production environments.
  • Strong command of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform, for automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux systems, networking principles, security frameworks, and cloud architecture best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, observability, incident management, and production troubleshooting to ensure platform reliability and performance.
• Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in Banking, FinTech, or Payment environments is highly advantageous, particularly in environments governed by strict regulatory and compliance standards such as PCI-DSS.
