Role Overview

The Mathematics Teacher (Grades 2–5) at MLKIS will play a pivotal role in shaping the mathematical foundation of young learners. This full-time, on-site position requires a dynamic educator who is passionate about mathematics and committed to delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction. The ideal candidate will design and implement innovative lesson plans, foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and utilize a variety of instructional strategies to cater to diverse learning needs. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, formative and summative assessments, differentiated support, and collaboration with colleagues on curriculum development. The teacher will also maintain transparent communication with families, providing regular updates on student progress and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum and Lesson Planning: Develop and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons aligned with the school’s standards-based curriculum, ensuring alignment with national and international benchmarks.
• Instructional Delivery: Facilitate engaging and interactive mathematics instruction for Grades 2–5, incorporating a blend of traditional and modern teaching methodologies to enhance student understanding and retention.
• Assessment and Evaluation: Design, administer, and analyze formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, identify learning gaps, and inform instructional strategies. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and families.
• Differentiated Instruction: Tailor teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed in mathematics.
• Collaboration and Professional Development: Work collaboratively with colleagues to review, refine, and enhance the mathematics curriculum. Participate in professional learning communities, workshops, and training sessions to stay current with best practices in mathematics education.
• Student Support and Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for mathematics. Provide additional support to students preparing for Tahsili (SAT) and Qudurat (GAT) examinations.
• Communication and Community Involvement: Maintain open and transparent communication with families regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement. Actively participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and extracurricular academic activities to strengthen the school community.

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Education, or a closely related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in mathematics education are highly desirable.
• Teaching Experience: Proven experience teaching primary or elementary mathematics, preferably in international or accredited schools. Familiarity with standards-based education systems is essential.
• Mathematical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum for Grades 2–5, including concepts such as arithmetic, geometry, algebra, and data analysis. Ability to simplify complex mathematical ideas for young learners.
• Instructional Strategies: Proficiency in a variety of teaching methodologies, educational technologies, and assessment tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Classroom Management: Exceptional classroom management skills, with the ability to create a structured, supportive, and motivating learning environment. Experience working in a multicultural setting is a plus.
