Role Overview

The Senior Engineer - Transportation plays a pivotal role in executing and overseeing transportation engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, safely, and in alignment with client expectations. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong foundation in design methodology, project controls, and engineering best practices. The Senior Engineer will independently manage key aspects of transportation projects, from initial conception to final delivery, while providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Analysis and Design: Collect, analyze, and correlate engineering data using established procedures. Apply design expertise to inform critical decisions, perform detailed calculations, and develop comprehensive design documentation in accordance with industry standards and methodologies.
• Project Execution and Management: Oversee project elements to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and project management controls (PMC) requirements. Independently manage primary design components, conduct thorough design reviews, and ensure all deliverables meet quality and compliance standards.
• Innovative Problem-Solving: Develop and propose engineering solutions tailored to unique challenges by adapting standard procedures and leveraging prior project experience. Drive continuous improvement in design approaches to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers, sharing insights on design methodologies, engineering procedures, and project controls best practices. Foster a collaborative learning environment that cultivates professional growth.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain meticulous design documentation and project records in compliance with PMC standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements. Ensure all project deliverables are accurately documented and easily accessible for future reference.
• Quality Assurance and Risk Management: Apply project management controls to monitor progress, identify discrepancies, and mitigate risks. Proactively address potential issues to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in transportation engineering, design, or project management.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working in Saudi Arabia (KSA), with a deep understanding of local engineering practices and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven expertise in transportation engineering design methodology, standards, and best practices.
• Strong proficiency in project management controls (PMC) systems and tools, including budget management, schedule control, and project delivery.
• Extensive experience in engineering calculations, testing, design documentation, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deliverables, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent engineering credential, demonstrating professional competence and adherence to ethical standards.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering software and design tools to streamline project execution and enhance productivity.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field, providing advanced technical knowledge and specialization.
• Experience with project controls software and enterprise project management platforms to optimize project planning and execution.
• Demonstrated track record of mentoring and developing junior engineering staff, fostering talent, and building high-performing teams.
• Exposure to large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects in the Middle East, with a deep understanding of regional challenges and opportunities.
• In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian building codes, regulations, and engineering standards to ensure compliance and project success.
