Your Mission and Impact

In this critical role, you will lead the end-to-end Medical Affairs strategy for rare disease therapies, ensuring that scientific rigor and patient-centric innovation guide every decision. You will bridge the gap between clinical development and real-world application, translating complex medical data into actionable insights that empower healthcare professionals and improve patient outcomes. Your work will directly influence how treatments are perceived, adopted, and optimized, shaping the future of rare disease care on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive Medical Affairs strategy and scientific communication plan that spans all clinical development phases, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and patient needs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and nurture credible, scientifically balanced relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), external experts, and international professional associations to strengthen our scientific presence and influence.
• Insight Generation: Drive Advisory Boards and other insight-generation activities to incorporate the patient voice into Medical Affairs strategies, ensuring that decisions are informed by real-world evidence and lived experiences.
• Publication Strategy: Lead the development and execution of a robust publication strategy, including Real-World Evidence (RWE) publications, to advance the scientific narrative and enhance our reputation as a leader in rare disease treatment.
• Medical Education: Design and deliver impactful medical education initiatives for healthcare professionals through scientific meetings, congresses, symposia, and other educational channels, fostering a deeper understanding of rare disease therapies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a trusted medical partner to Commercial, Research, Regulatory, and other internal stakeholders, providing expert guidance, scientific training, and support for data-driven decision-making.

Within the Medical Affairs Rare Disease team, you will collaborate with a group of dedicated professionals who combine deep scientific expertise with a passion for addressing unmet medical needs. Reporting to the Affiliate Medical Director, you will have the visibility and authority to drive transformative change in a field where your contributions truly matter.

Your Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess a blend of scientific acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership skills. We are seeking a candidate with:

• An advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, or a related field (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent is strongly preferred).
• Significant experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a strong preference for candidates with exposure to rare disease or specialty therapy areas.
• A proven track record in developing and executing scientific communication strategies, publication plans, and KOL engagement programs.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to coach and develop teams, set clear objectives, and drive performance.
• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to serve as a credible scientific partner to commercial, regulatory, and clinical teams.
• Experience working with International Professional Associations and leading Advisory Boards or similar insight-generation initiatives.
• Fluency in English and Arabic; additional languages are considered an advantage.
