As an Engineering Trainee, you will play a pivotal role in supporting critical product development and technical processes across various stages of the product lifecycle. This position is designed to foster your growth while contributing meaningfully to high-impact projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product engineers, systems engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners, to drive continuous improvement and ensure the delivery of superior products.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Problem-Solving and Root-Cause Analysis: Investigate product issues, identify causal mechanisms, and propose actionable solutions with guidance from senior team members. Own the resolution process and document findings to prevent recurrence, ensuring long-term product reliability.
• Technical Process Execution: Engage in key business processes such as Product Preceding Technology (PPT), Value Package Introduction (VPI), and Current Product Support (CPS). Execute technical methodologies like Engineering Standard Work (ESW), iDFMEA, and Failure Incident Review Group (FIRG) using structured tools such as the 7-step problem-solving framework and design review checklists to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Gather insights from technical managers, project leaders, product engineers, manufacturing teams, and supplier partners to deliver well-informed recommendations that align with quality standards and project objectives.
• Independent Execution and Continuous Improvement: Execute established work processes with minimal supervision while expanding your technical knowledge. Actively contribute to refining systems and processes, ensuring they evolve to meet the demands of future projects.
• Quality Decision-Making: Apply academic knowledge and practical experience to make informed decisions that advance projects without compromising quality. This includes overseeing day-to-day project details, analyzing test work instructions, and coordinating cross-disciplinary efforts to ensure seamless progress.
• Ownership of Technical Challenges: Take ownership of resolving moderately complex technical issues across components, products, systems, or services. Your accountability will extend to higher-level project outcomes, requiring a balance of technical expertise and strategic thinking.
• Team Collaboration and Influence: Contribute effectively to team objectives, demonstrate influence within your workgroup, and continuously develop competencies critical to your success in this role. While direct people management is minimal, you may coordinate work among technicians or temporary student employees, fostering a collaborative environment.
