Key Responsibilities

In this strategic position, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. Your responsibilities will include:

• Database Architecture & Maintenance: Design, implement, and maintain robust Oracle and SQL Server environments, including installations, upgrades, patching, and configuration to align with evolving business needs.
• Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor database performance, diagnose bottlenecks, and execute advanced tuning strategies—leveraging tools like AWR/ASH for Oracle and performance metrics for SQL Server—to enhance query efficiency and system responsiveness.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Lead the implementation and management of Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, ensuring minimal downtime and resilient disaster recovery solutions.
• Backup & Recovery Expertise: Oversee comprehensive backup and recovery strategies, including Oracle RMAN, Data Pump (expdp/impdp), and SQL Server backup/restore operations, with a focus on data integrity and rapid recovery.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce stringent database security protocols, access controls, and auditing standards to safeguard sensitive data while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
• Incident & Change Management: Resolve production incidents with urgency, conduct root-cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes aligned with SLAs and operational best practices.
• Documentation & Process Improvement: Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and best-practice procedures to streamline database administration and enhance team efficiency.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with application, development, and cloud teams to align database solutions with business objectives, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Technical Proficiency

To excel in this role, you must possess:

• 8+ Years of DBA Experience: Deep hands-on expertise in both **Oracle (11g/12c/18c/19c+)** and **Microsoft SQL Server (2012–2022)**, with a proven track record in production support, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
• Oracle Specializations: Mastery of RMAN, Data Pump, SQL*Loader, RAC, Data Guard, and advanced performance tuning techniques (AWR/ASH).
• SQL Server Expertise: Proficiency in T-SQL, Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Replication, Log Shipping, and performance monitoring.
• Upgrade & Migration Skills: Experience leading database upgrades, migrations, and environment synchronization with minimal disruption.
• Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, analyze system metrics, and implement scalable solutions under tight deadlines.
