About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Registrar – Endocrinology to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role is designed for a physician in advanced training who specializes in providing exceptional care for patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders through both virtual and in-person clinic platforms. You will manage a diverse caseload, including diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, metabolic syndrome, and other endocrine conditions, while operating under the supervision of a Consultant to ensure clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous professional growth within an integrated care environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Registrar – Endocrinology will play a pivotal role in patient consultations and clinical management, utilizing telehealth tools to assess, diagnose, and manage patients effectively. Your responsibilities will include:

• Patient Consultations: Conduct thorough virtual and in-person consultations for patients with acute, chronic, and complex endocrine conditions, ensuring accurate assessment and diagnosis.
• Treatment Planning: Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and specialist referrals, tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
• Continuity of Care: Provide ongoing care for patients with long-term conditions such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, and osteoporosis, monitoring treatment adherence and clinical outcomes to adjust management plans as necessary.
• Documentation: Maintain precise and comprehensive records of clinical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans in the patient health record, adhering to all regulatory and ethical standards.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

Ensuring the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance is paramount. In this role, you will:

• Adhere to Standards: Follow all relevant medical regulations, ethical guidelines, and quality assurance standards for both telehealth and in-person practice.
• Participate in Audits: Engage in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and incident reporting activities to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
• Maintain Knowledge: Stay current with telehealth regulations, governance frameworks, and best practices to ensure compliance and deliver high-quality care.

• Platform Expertise: Maintain proficiency in designated telehealth platforms, including video conferencing, secure messaging, and electronic health record (EHR) integration.

• Technical Support: Collaborate with IT support to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, minimizing disruptions to patient care.

• Patient Communication: Deliver consultations with empathy, conduct thorough history-taking, explain diagnoses clearly, and respond promptly to patient inquiries.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

This role requires seamless collaboration with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to deliver integrated patient care. You will:

• Team Coordination: Work closely with physicians, subspecialists, dietitians, nurses, and allied health professionals to manage complex endocrine patients effectively.
• Referrals and Case Discussions: Facilitate referrals and participate in multidisciplinary case discussions to ensure comprehensive patient management.
• Care Transitions: Coordinate patient care transitions between virtual, outpatient, and inpatient settings as required, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
