Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structure Design Engineer – Bridges to lead the end-to-end development, analysis, and delivery of steel bridge structures. This pivotal role spans all project phases, from initial concept and preliminary design through detailed engineering, construction supervision, and final project closeout. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, innovation, and leadership to deliver robust, safe, and sustainable bridge solutions for complex urban transportation corridors and highway networks.

Key Responsibilities

As a Structure Design Engineer – Bridges, you will be responsible for:

• Design Leadership: Spearhead the conceptualization, development, and optimization of steel bridge structures, ensuring alignment with project objectives, regulatory standards, and client expectations.
• Structural Analysis & Design: Conduct comprehensive structural analysis, perform detailed design calculations, and execute technical reviews to validate the integrity and performance of bridge designs. Provide independent design verification to uphold the highest standards of engineering excellence.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including highways, utilities, traffic, drainage, geotechnical, and construction disciplines, to integrate bridge designs seamlessly into broader infrastructure projects.
• Construction Support & Oversight: Deliver critical construction support services by addressing technical queries, reviewing shop drawings, method statements, temporary works proposals, and material submittals. Ensure that all construction activities adhere to approved designs, specifications, quality benchmarks, and stringent safety protocols.
• Site Inspections & Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough site inspections to monitor construction progress, verify compliance with design intent, and identify potential issues early. Oversee bridge construction, erection, launching, rehabilitation, strengthening, and maintenance activities to ensure seamless execution and long-term durability.
• Issue Resolution & Compliance: Proactively identify and resolve design and construction challenges that arise during project execution. Ensure full compliance with client-specific requirements, Saudi regulatory frameworks, and internationally recognized bridge design standards, including AASHTO, Eurocodes, and relevant local codes.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with contractors, consultants, utility agencies, and government authorities to facilitate smooth project delivery. Act as a liaison to address technical concerns, align expectations, and ensure seamless coordination across all stakeholders.
• Mentorship & Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the bridge design and supervision teams. Lead by example to uphold the highest standards of engineering integrity and innovation.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates for this role should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a specialization in bridge design or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE, CEng) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in bridge engineering, with a proven track record in designing and delivering steel bridge structures across diverse project types and scales.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software tools for structural analysis and design, such as MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of international bridge design codes (AASHTO, Eurocodes, etc.) and local regulatory requirements, with a strong commitment to safety and quality assurance.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong analytical skills, and the capacity to work effectively in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
