Your Leadership Mission

In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of medical affairs professionals. Your role will involve setting clear objectives, translating strategic departmental goals into actionable operational priorities, and driving measurable impact that aligns with Novo Nordisk’s mission. You will champion medical education initiatives, including scientific meetings, symposia, continuing education workshops, and tailored programs designed to empower physicians, pharmacists, and scientists with the latest clinical insights and evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of medical affairs professionals, ensuring alignment with departmental strategies and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Translate high-level objectives into operational priorities that deliver tangible results.
• Medical Education and Scientific Engagement: Drive the development and execution of medical education programs, including scientific meetings, symposia, and continuing education workshops. Tailor these initiatives to meet the diverse needs of healthcare professionals, ensuring they are equipped with the latest scientific evidence and clinical best practices.
• Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture strategic relationships with key opinion leaders, clinical professors, teaching-hospital faculty, government agencies, health systems, and healthcare professional associations. Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for Novo Nordisk’s cardiometabolic portfolio, ensuring its clinical value is recognized and integrated into healthcare decision-making.
• Scientific Communication and Publication Strategy: Lead the scientific communication strategy across clinical trial phases, including input to clinical trial design, real-world evidence plans, and the identification of potential clinical trial sites. Develop and execute publication strategies that amplify the patient voice through advisory boards and scientific recruitment activities.
• Internal Medical Guidance: Provide medical guidance internally by developing and delivering training programs that ensure the organization remains equipped with accurate, up-to-date medical information on marketed products and related topics. Serve as a subject matter expert, supporting cross-functional teams with scientific insights and evidence-based recommendations.
• Performance Management: Coach and guide field medical employees to enhance their scientific engagement skills and ensure the team remains on track to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the team.

Your Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking an experienced medical affairs leader who excels at the intersection of science, strategy, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will bring:

• A strong background in medical affairs, clinical development, or a related field within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, with a deep understanding of the cardiometabolic therapeutic area.
• Proven leadership experience, including managing and developing professional teams, setting strategic direction, and delivering results through others in complex, cross-functional environments.
• A demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professional associations, and external scientific stakeholders at national and international levels.
• Exceptional scientific communication skills, including experience with publication planning, medical education programs, and advisory board coordination.
• An advanced degree in a relevant scientific or medical discipline (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent).
