Position Overview
Greenberg Traurig (GT), a globally recognized law firm with a presence in 15 countries, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team at the Riyadh Regional Headquarters. Key Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager will serve as the primary steward of the office’s financial health, providing hands-on leadership in the following areas:
- Financial Operations: Independently manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Tax and Compliance: Prepare, coordinate, and submit critical tax and regulatory filings, including Tax/VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), Zakat, General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), Regional Headquarters (RHQ), and Ministry of Justice submissions. Stay abreast of evolving financial, tax, and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance with local laws and reporting obligations.
- Audit and Regulatory Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors, tax advisors, consultants, and government authorities. Coordinate audits, regulatory inquiries, and related documentation to facilitate seamless compliance and transparency.
- Internal Controls and Procedures: Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting procedures, recordkeeping practices, and internal controls to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance. Identify opportunities for process improvements to drive operational excellence.
- Strategic Financial Support: Collaborate with U.S.-based Finance and Accounting teams to support global reporting requirements and ensure alignment with GT’s financial standards. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance monitoring to provide actionable insights to local leadership.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide financial and compliance support to local leadership and key stakeholders, fostering a culture of accountability and transparency. Serve as a trusted advisor on financial matters, contributing to strategic decision-making processes.
- Special Projects: Undertake additional finance, accounting, audit, compliance, and special project responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and initiative in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications and Competencies
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:
- Technical Expertise: A robust background in audit, accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance, with a deep understanding of internal controls, audit readiness, and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in general accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and budgeting processes is essential.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to independently manage a local finance function while aligning with global financial standards. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with auditors, consultants, government authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical prowess, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. A proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial and compliance challenges.
- Organizational and Time Management: Exceptional organizational abilities and time-management skills to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results consistently. The capacity to thrive in a dynamic, business-driven setting with a can-do attitude.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including non-financial stakeholders.
- Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable. A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role, is preferred. Experience in the legal or professional services industry is a plus.
