As a Cardiovascular Technician at our facility, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures under the supervision of cardiologists. Your expertise will be instrumental in conducting electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, stress tests, and other specialized imaging modalities such as Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) assessments. You will operate sophisticated medical equipment, analyze cardiac data, and collaborate closely with physicians to deliver accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities, ensuring both clinical excellence and operational efficiency:

• Patient Care and Comfort: Greet patients with professionalism and empathy, ensuring they feel at ease throughout their procedure. Explain testing procedures clearly, address concerns, and assist patients in assuming the correct position to minimize anxiety and maximize cooperation.
• Advanced Diagnostic Procedures: Perform and analyze electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, and stress tests using state-of-the-art equipment. Execute specialized imaging techniques such as IVUS, OCT, and FFR to provide physicians with critical diagnostic insights.
• Real-Time Monitoring and Safety: Establish and monitor patients’ vital signs, including ECG leads, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, throughout procedures. Immediately alert physicians to any abnormalities and ensure patient safety by adhering to strict radiation safety protocols, including the use of lead aprons and protective shielding in the cath lab.
• Emergency Response: Demonstrate quick thinking and decisive action in emergency situations, including administering CPR using a defibrillator and assisting with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) procedures to stabilize patients in critical conditions.
• Physician Assistance and Data Analysis: Support physicians by operating multi-channel physiologic monitors and recording cardiovascular and pulmonary functions. Calculate essential metrics such as valve areas, cardiac output, left ventricular end-diastolic pressure, and pressure gradients across valves. Ensure accurate transducer calibration and chest leveling for precise pressure readings.
• Interventional Support: Assist in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular conditions by aiding physicians in catheterization procedures. Help navigate catheters through blood vessels to the heart, ensuring smooth and effective interventions.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain meticulous records of procedures, findings, and patient data, ensuring compliance with infection control standards, legal regulations, and international patient safety goals. Complete mandatory certifications, such as the CMJ-Infection Control License, to uphold the highest professional and operational standards.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all cardiovascular systems and diagnostic equipment are functioning optimally. Perform regular calibrations, troubleshoot issues, and conduct preventive maintenance to avoid downtime and ensure readiness for patient care.
• Professional Development: Continuously update your knowledge and skills by participating in educational opportunities provided by the Cardiac Cath Lab. Stay current with advancements in cardiovascular technology and best practices to deliver superior care.
• Interpersonal and Team Collaboration: Foster positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals. Contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment, ensuring the smooth operation of the department and the facility.
