Cost Analyst – Strategic Financial Leadership in Healthcare

Key Responsibilities:

In this dynamic role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Cost Allocation and Distribution: Systematically allocate shared and support costs across departments and service lines to ensure equitable financial accountability and resource optimization.
• Unit-Cost Analysis: Develop and refine unit-cost measures, including critical metrics such as cost per patient day, visit, procedure, and laboratory test, to enhance cost transparency and operational efficiency.
• Profitability Insights: Conduct in-depth profitability analyses by department, service line, and physician to identify performance trends, inefficiencies, and growth opportunities.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate on the development of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to ensure financial targets are met and operational strategies remain agile and responsive.
• Operational Efficiency: Analyze operational drivers, payer mix, and cost-efficiency opportunities to recommend data-backed improvements that enhance financial health and service delivery.
• Financial Reconciliations: Support month-end processes, including allocations, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations, to maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of educational background, technical skills, and industry-specific experience:

• A **Bachelor’s degree** in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, with a strong academic foundation in financial analysis and cost management.
• **2 to 5 years of hands-on experience** in cost accounting, management accounting, budgeting, or financial analysis, with a preference for candidates who have worked within the **healthcare or hospital-costing landscape**.
• Proven proficiency in **Excel**, advanced financial modeling, and **ERP systems**, particularly experience with **Oracle Fusion** or similar platforms will be highly advantageous.
• A keen eye for detail, analytical rigor, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and clinical departments.
