Position Overview

The Reinsurance Senior Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the Reinsurance team by providing comprehensive administrative and operational assistance. This position is instrumental in managing treaty and facultative reinsurance activities, ensuring meticulous documentation, accurate reconciliations, and timely claims follow-ups. The role also involves generating insightful reports and maintaining strong coordination with internal and external stakeholders to uphold the integrity and efficiency of our reinsurance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update reinsurance records, registers, and databases to ensure accuracy and accessibility of critical information.
• Prepare, manage, and oversee treaty and facultative reinsurance documents, including contracts, endorsements, and amendments, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Facilitate the follow-up process for reinsurance claims, recoveries, and outstanding balances to ensure timely resolution and financial accuracy.
• Conduct thorough reconciliations of reinsurance accounts and provide essential support during quarterly financial closings to maintain compliance and transparency.
• Serve as a liaison between Mutakamela, brokers, reinsurers, Finance, and Claims teams to streamline communication and ensure seamless collaboration.
• Monitor and track treaty renewals and expiry dates to proactively manage contractual obligations and avoid lapses.
• Develop and present reports, statistics, and presentations to stakeholders, providing actionable insights and supporting data-driven decision-making.
• Ensure proper documentation and adherence to regulatory compliance in all reinsurance activities, safeguarding the organization’s integrity and legal standing.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional experience in insurance, reinsurance, or finance operations is highly preferred, with a minimum of one year in a relevant role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and reporting tools, with the ability to leverage these tools for data analysis and reporting.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
• A collaborative mindset with the capacity to work effectively within a team and across departments to achieve organizational goals.
