The Role: Patient Journey Partner (PJP)

In response to the dynamic shifts in healthcare and the evolving needs of stakeholders, Roche is pioneering a transformative approach through the Patient Journey Partner (PJP). This pivotal role serves as a local leader at the heart of our organization, collaborating directly with ecosystem partners to co-develop patient-centric solutions that deliver measurable impact. Operating beyond traditional commercial constraints, the PJP is empowered to focus exclusively on accelerating better outcomes for patients and the healthcare system, ensuring that Roche’s expertise and resources are aligned with real-world needs.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Bridging the Inside and Outside: Act as a conduit between Roche and the external ecosystem, bringing external insights into the organization while translating Roche’s scientific expertise, knowledge, and capabilities outward to drive meaningful change.
• Trusted Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, advocating for patient and community needs internally, prioritizing resources, and facilitating solutions that expedite positive outcomes. This role is non-exclusive, allowing for collaboration across multiple touchpoints.
• Removing Barriers, Unlocking Potential: Partner with stakeholders to identify and dismantle obstacles, fostering an environment where innovative solutions can flourish to benefit patients and the broader community.
• Stewardship of Roche’s Portfolio: Oversee the lifecycle of Roche’s products, ensuring their appropriate use through truthful, balanced, and evidence-based communication with healthcare professionals (HCPs).
• Systemic Thinking and Collaboration: Adopt a holistic perspective to identify shared goals among stakeholders, leveraging these insights to co-create solutions that enhance the patient journey. The PJP is empowered to mobilize local and global expertise and resources as needed, in collaboration with other PJPs across the network.
• Ensuring Exceptional Experiences: Champion seamless and positive interactions for all stakeholders engaging with Roche’s employees, products, and services, thereby strengthening trust and collaboration.

Your Profile

To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of academic excellence, strategic acumen, and deep empathy for patient needs. The ideal candidate will possess:

• A university degree in Pharmacy or a relevant field; an advanced degree in Life Sciences and/or an MBA is advantageous. Completion of the CCXA Academy program is a desirable qualification.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with proven experience partnering with Therapeutic Area Experts (TAEs) and organizations. Experience collaborating with Patient Advocacy Groups (PAGs) is highly valued.
• A track record of leading cross-functional teams, including the formulation of strategies and orchestration of multidisciplinary efforts.
• Strong business acumen with expertise in commercialization, medical affairs, and customer experience excellence.
• A comprehensive understanding of patient journeys and related treatments within defined disease areas, enabling engagement at the specialist level.
• In-depth knowledge of Roche’s current portfolio and future pipeline, allowing you to develop forward-thinking solutions.
• Proficiency in medical affairs strategies and tactics, including clinical research methodologies.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
