Role Overview: Kindergarten English Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Kindergarten English Teacher to join our dynamic team at MLKIS. This full-time, on-site position is based in Jeddah and offers a unique opportunity to shape the foundational literacy skills of young learners in a nurturing and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging English lessons that focus on phonics, vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking, while fostering a love for learning in every student.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Delivery: Plan and implement age-appropriate English lessons that align with the school’s rigorous standards, ensuring a strong foundation in literacy and communication skills.
• Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of young learners.
• Student Assessment: Regularly evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to learners and their families to support continuous improvement.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with colleagues, including subject specialists and teaching assistants, to enhance the learning experience. Maintain open and transparent communication with parents and guardians to ensure they are informed and engaged in their child’s educational journey.
• Curriculum Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the English curriculum, ensuring it remains innovative, engaging, and aligned with best practices in early childhood education.
• Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development opportunities to foster a cohesive and supportive school community.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, English, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or additional certifications in education are advantageous.
• Teaching Experience: Proven experience teaching English to kindergarten or early primary students, preferably within an international or standards-based school environment, is essential.
• Pedagogical Skills: Strong lesson planning and instructional design skills, with a deep understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies for young learners.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues in a multicultural setting.
• Classroom Leadership: Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom environment that caters to diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
• Cultural Competency: Comfort working in a girls’ school environment and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multicultural team.
• Professional Credentials: A valid teaching certification or license is preferred but not mandatory.
