Job Purpose

The Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting Shory’s financial operations by maintaining precise financial records, preparing comprehensive reports, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and tax regulations, and delivering timely financial insights that drive informed business decisions. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization while contributing to its strategic growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements, and Cash Flow Statements, in compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial records are precise, up-to-date, and compliant with internal controls and policies.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets, financial forecasts, and strategic planning activities to support the organization’s long-term objectives.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax documentation, ensuring full compliance with local and international tax regulations while identifying opportunities for tax optimization.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to generate ad hoc reports and insights that inform business strategies and operational decisions.
• Account Reconciliation: Conduct thorough reconciliations of accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.
• Month-End and Year-End Closing: Lead and support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to maintain financial transparency.
• Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to IFRS, company policies, and internal controls to mitigate financial risks and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and leadership, to provide financial insights and recommendations that drive business growth.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA or ACCA are highly desirable.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of IFRS and accounting principles, with hands-on experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Analytical Proficiency: Ability to interpret financial data with a keen eye for detail, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to leverage advanced functions for financial modeling and analysis.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and present financial insights clearly and concisely.
