Network Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team, providing on-site technical support and maintenance for complex network infrastructure across multiple locations in Duba and Al-Bad (Al-Haddah). This full-time role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of our client’s enterprise network, collaboration solutions, and end-user hardware. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in network troubleshooting, hardware maintenance, and preventive maintenance strategies, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams and escalate issues as needed.

Key Responsibilities

The Network Engineer will be responsible for delivering comprehensive on-site support, including:

• Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including connectivity problems, device failures, and cabling discrepancies. Lead incident response efforts for L1/L2 support cases, ensuring timely resolution or escalation to L3 teams or end-user support when necessary.
• Collaboration with Remote Teams: Work closely with remote technical teams to conduct advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting using specialized tools and methodologies. Maintain clear communication channels to ensure seamless issue resolution and knowledge sharing.
• Hardware Maintenance and Replacement: Perform physical replacements or repairs of network, AV, and printer components, such as routers, switches, toner, and other hardware and consumables. Ensure minimal service disruption while adhering to safety and compliance protocols.
• Printer and Peripheral Support: Manage printer-related issues in alignment with the existing vendor-managed printing services contract. Stock and maintain toner and consumables at customer premises, provide on-call support, and coordinate remote or on-site service visits as required. Handle minor issues independently while escalating complex problems to the appropriate teams.
• User Request Management: Process and fulfill user requests, including software installations, hardware provisioning, AV equipment setup, and video conferencing assistance. Provide technical support via phone, email, remote desktop tools, or on-site visits to ensure end-user satisfaction.
• Asset Tracking and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of IT hardware and software assets, ensuring proper lifecycle monitoring and documentation in coordination with the customer’s IT assets support team.
• Network Installation and Configuration: Conduct installation, configuration, setup, and disposal of approved network and end-user devices, including laptops, desktops, workstations, printers, routers, switches, and access points. Verify network layouts against design specifications and perform basic device configurations under the guidance of L3 teams.
• Preventive Maintenance: Implement predictive maintenance strategies to proactively identify and address potential network issues. Perform firmware updates, software upgrades, and routine performance monitoring to enhance system reliability and security. Adhere to best practices, work permits, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) procedures to ensure safe and effective operations.

Technical Platforms and Tools

The Network Engineer will support a diverse range of platforms and technologies, including:

• Core Routing and Switching: ASR 9000 series, Catalyst 6509, 6513, 4510, 9300, 9200, 3850, 3750, and 2960.
• Industrial Switches: Cisco IE300 and IE4000 series.
• Wireless Infrastructure: Indoor and outdoor access points.
• Collaboration Solutions: Cisco Room Bar, Cisco Navigator, and Cisco RoomOS.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Certification: Active CCNA certification is mandatory for Network L1 and L2 resources.
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in network troubleshooting, hardware maintenance, and preventive maintenance strategies. Familiarity with Cisco networking devices and collaboration solutions is highly desirable.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities to identify root causes of network issues and implement effective solutions.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and liaise with remote stakeholders.
• Safety and Compliance: Commitment to adhering to HSE procedures, work permits, and industry best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform on-site duties, including handling hardware components, cabling, and equipment setup, with occasional travel between locations.

Work Environment

This position requires on-site presence at designated locations in Duba and Al-Bad (Al-Haddah). The Network Engineer will work in a fast-paced environment, providing critical support to maintain network integrity and end-user productivity.
